BJT’s David Breskin and Cindy Heidelberg have resolved a six-year dispute with Evergreen Hospital Medical Center in Kirkland over rest and meal breaks for nurses.  Over a thousand nurses will receive payments for missed breaks under the settlement.  We hope this and other similar cases will cause hospitals to provide adequate staffing so that these hard-working professionals receive the breaks from their stressful jobs that state law and good patient care requires.

In connection with the settlement, BJT secured a donation to the Legal Foundation of Washington, and donations to three local charities that serve the healthcare needs of our community: Neighborhood Health, HealthPoint, and LWTech Foundation.
